The Leabman Kenney Jazz Orchestra, headed by drummer Lew Leabman and trumpeter Craig Kenney, play the music styles of Big Bands like Buddy Rich, Count Basie, Maynard Ferguson, Woody Herman, and more.

Members of the ensemble are the best of the best, having performed with so many, including: The Philly Pops, Aretha Franklin, The Drifters,
The Coasters, Smokey Robinson, Dianne Schuur, Bobby Caldwell, Reading Pops Orchestra, Joey DeFrancesco, New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, and shows on Broadway.
A few members have their own performing ensembles, as well.

Lew Leabman

Craig Kenney

Lew Leabman’s diversity includes traveling with Bob Hardwick Society Orchestra for 18 years, playing for royalty, film and music stars, presidents and their family events.
He is sought after for many productions, club dates, Jewish traditional and cultural events, Dixieland events, small jazz ensembles, rock, funk, and his personal favorite: Big Bands.
He brings to the ensemble his experience of playing in various orchestras, backing up many comedians such as Bob Hope, Don Rickles, Robert Klein, Shecky Greene, George Gobel,  Henny Youngman, Dan Aykroyd and more. Lew was the drummer with Bobby Caldwell at the Berks JazzFest and various Sinatra shows. He played drums for the Rat Pack Show at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City summer of 2021. He played with Myron Floren and the Stars of the Lawrence Welk Show, The Mills Brothers, and The Ink Spots. For a few years, Lew drove rockabilly by day, with Charlie Gracie, and shared his classy pizazz with The Original Four Aces each night in Wildwood Crest. He accompanied singers such as Jerry Vale, Enzo Stuarti, Billy Daniels, Margaret Whiting, Helen O’Connell and Lena Horne, not to mention Eartha Kitt, Maureen McGovern, and Natalie Cole with David Foster. He played “42nd Street” on Broadway. He also has worked with many high school jazz programs as a clinician, and he coaches professional drummers desiring additional skill sets. Lew can be heard on four Dave Stahl Band CDs, Al Harrison Dixieland CDs,
Len Pierro Jazz Orchestra CD, Sharon Bailey Live Jazz Cabaret,
The Bob Hardwick Society Orchestra, and many more.

Craig Kenney, who lives in Dallastown, has traveled the country as a freelance trumpeter and has played lead trumpet for many notable artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Patti Austin, Wayne Newton, Phil Woods, Scott Lippia, Bobby Caldwell, Cynthia Green, Marie Osmond, Benny Goodman Orchestra, Gene Krupa Orchestra, and the Ben Patterson Jazz Orchestra, as well as the Andrew Neu Big Band. He teaches trumpet privately. Craig spent 23 years as band manager and lead trumpet for the Dave Stahl Big Band and Dave Stahl Sacred Orchestra. His discography includes 7 albums with Dave Stahl and the Christian music group The Browns.
